Handcrafted bread linen bag.  Made by Three Pines Studio in Cross Village, Michigan.  Traditionally, French bread was stored in linen (sac à pain) to preserve both the freshness and crust of the baguette.  Linen can absorb humidity up to 35% without giving a sensation of wetness.  Linen has both heating and cooling qualities.  At home, the sac à pain has its own place, hanging from a cupboard or doorknob.  It quickly becomes part of the household. Each item is a unique piece made from traditional woodblock print.  Sizes, shapes, and colors vary.
